The next step is to disconnect the battery to avoid any electrical shorts. Then we need to drop the steering column away from the dash by removing the lower part of the stock cluster that covers the bottom of the steering column and removing the bolts that hold the column to the dash. Now the stock 57 cluster can be removed by removing the four sheet metal screws on the front side of the cluster and the two nuts on the rear of the cluster.



Once removed, mark the position of the two upper screw holes. Placing a piece of tape on each side, in line with the holes, draw a line to indicate the position of each hole. This will assist in marking the location of the holes on the new fiberglass panel.
